Cat Boarding
Comfortable, private pens for short breaks and family holidays, with the same calm routine every cat can rely on.
What's included
Standard cat boarding at Crookedstone House & Cattery gives your cat their own private pen for the length of their stay: never shared with an unfamiliar cat, and sized to give them proper room to stretch, perch, and settle. Each pen includes clean bedding, food and water bowls, and a litter tray serviced daily. Heating is maintained to a comfortable level year-round, and pens are cleaned thoroughly between guests.
Cats are fed according to their usual routine wherever possible: morning and evening, or as close to their normal pattern as we can manage. If you feed a particular brand or have portion instructions, we follow them exactly. We ask you to bring your cat’s usual food for the length of their stay, since sudden diet changes can upset a cat’s stomach at an already unsettling time.
Because the cattery is set in converted stables surrounded by gardens and fields rather than a built-up commercial unit, there’s a genuine quiet to the place. No passing traffic, no barking dogs next door, just birdsong and the occasional rustle from the hedgerows. Cats that are naturally nervous around noise tend to settle here faster than they would somewhere busier.
Our daily routine
Consistency matters enormously to cats, so every guest follows the same simple daily rhythm: morning feeding and pen cleaning first thing within our opening hours, a check through the day, and an evening feed. Cats that enjoy company get a little extra attention and fuss; cats that would rather be left alone are given the space to do exactly that. Primrose spends time with each cat individually, learning quickly who wants to chat and who wants their privacy.
We keep a close eye on appetite, litter tray habits, and general behaviour throughout the stay, since these are usually the first signs if a cat isn’t settling as well as we’d like. If anything changes, we call you straight away rather than waiting until pick-up day.
Who this service is for
Standard boarding suits most cats coming to us for anything from a long weekend to a couple of weeks: family holidays, short work trips, or simply a period when your cat can’t stay at home. If you’re travelling from, or arriving into, Belfast International Airport, our location in Aldergrove makes drop-off and collection genuinely convenient rather than a diversion across the city.
If your cat is elderly, on regular medication, or needs a particular diet, our medication and special care service may be a better fit. If you have more than one cat from the same household, they can often share a larger pen. See multi-cat families. For stays of a month or longer, read about long-stay boarding.
