Multi-Cat Families
Cats from the same home can share a larger pen together, keeping familiar company during their stay.
What's included
If your cats already share a home and a bond, there’s rarely a good reason to separate them for a cattery stay. Our family pens are larger than our standard single pens and designed so that bonded cats from the same household can stay together: same food bowls, same litter tray arrangement, same company they’re used to at home, just in a different setting. For most cats, staying with a familiar sibling or housemate takes a good deal of the stress out of being somewhere new.
We treat the group as a family unit throughout their stay: feeding together on their usual schedule, cleaning the shared pen daily, and keeping a general eye on the group dynamic to make sure everyone is still comfortable, especially if the stay runs longer than a week or two. Occasionally cats that get along fine at home want a little more space when routines change, and if we notice that, we’ll talk to you about the best way to handle it, but the vast majority of multi-cat groups settle in and stay settled together for the whole visit.
Who this service is for
This is designed for any household sending two or more cats to us at the same time, particularly bonded siblings, a parent and kitten, or long-term companion cats. It works equally well for a short family holiday or a longer stay. See long-stay boarding if you’re planning several weeks or more. If one of your cats needs medication or extra care while the others don’t, that’s easily accommodated within the shared pen. Read more on our medication and special care page.
If your cats don’t get along, or you’re not sure whether they should share, just tell us honestly when you book. We would always rather set them up in separate standard pens (see cat boarding) than force a shared arrangement that leaves any cat feeling crowded or on edge.
